NORFOLK, Va. -- Four players scored multiple goals for the Oregon Ducks in the team's 10-9 victory over Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon.
The win snapped the Ducks' four-game losing streak. Oregon improved to 5-5 overall with the win, while Old Dominion fell to 3-8.
In addition, the win gave the Ducks momentum heading into the bulk of their conference schedule. Beginning on Thursday (April 4) with a home game against USC on the Pac-12 Networks, Oregon will play seven-straight Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matches to wrap up the regular season.
Senior Kate Cathell led the Oregon charge with three goals today against Old Dominion. Nikki Puszcz, Hayley Milner and Shannon Propst each scored two and Carly O'Connell was responsible for the Ducks' other tally.
The two teams played the first half to a 4-4 draw but Oregon came out swinging when Puszcz scored the second of her two goals to put the Ducks up a goal. The game remained close, however, as the teams exchanged a pair of goals.
But with the game tied at six, Propst and Cathell converted back-to-back goals to put the Ducks up two. Old Dominion could not draw even the rest of the way.
Milner's second goal of the day came with 3:13 remaining in the second and it put the Ducks up 10-8 to help secure the win.
Oregon's game at home against USC on the Pac-12 Networks is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Ducks face California in Eugene on Sunday (April 7) at 12 p.m.
