Each month O Heroes sits down with one male student-athlete and one female student-athlete to get to know them better off the playing field. This month’s Male O Hero of the Month is Sam Kamp, a sophomore defensive lineman on the Oregon football team.
Sam has showed his tremendous talents on the field as well as in the classroom. In 2012 he was named to the academic all-Pac-12 team.
Sam’s dedication and drive on the football field are matched by his impact in the community. Most recently he volunteered to go fishing with children who were either fighting cancer or had recently overcome it. He also participate in “The First Tee,” an event that uses golf to teach children important life skills and values that will help them obtain future success.
Sam is majoring in general social science with a focus on business, economics and society. His post-graduate plan is to move to Phoenix to find and discover his true passion. He would also like to continue his volunteer work by coaching and mentoring.
