PERSONAL — Born Chad Cameron Peppars on Aug. 28, 1988 in Chicago, Ill. Parents: Gordon and Julie Peppars. Family: One brother. High School (Coach): Loyola (Jeff Kearin), 2006. Major: Undeclared. Redshirt: 2006. Note: Chad’s father Gordon was an All-American track star at UCLA as a member of the 1972 and 1973 National Champions. The ‘72 title was secured at Hayward Field.

2010 — Totaled three tackles in win vs. New Mexico • Posted the second-highest vertical leap among defensive backs at 34.5 inches during winter workouts.

2009 — A reserve corner in his junior season • Played season-high 29 snaps at Washington • Accumulated three tackles and two pass break-ups in seven games played • Was the fastest defensive back in the electronic 40-yard dash during winter testing, clocking 4.73.

2008 — Ruled ineligible for the season prior to the start of fall camp • Rejoined practice at the beginning of fall term.

2007 — Made five appearances with first tackle as a collegian coming in the season-opener vs. Houston • Saw the field for 13 plays at Stanford and nine vs. Fresno State.

2006 — Spent his redshirt year grasping the intricacies as a full-time defender at the Division I level.

HIGH SCHOOL — Team’s rushing leader and first-team all-Serra League tailback accumulated 1,093 yards in addition to hauling in 21 receptions for 207 yards • Included in his totals were season highs of 145 yards on the ground against both Santa Margarita and Servite • The Cubs’ third-leading scorer combined to provide 78 points, including three touchdowns vs. La Quinta, as he helped lead his team to the CIF Division I title • Developed a reputation as one of state’s top cover cornerbacks for a program that ranked 17th in the state.
