WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – After helping the No. 8 Oregon volleyball team (11-0, 2-0) snap a 21-match losing streak at then-No. 2 USC last week, junior setter Lauren Plum was honored Monday as the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week.

The returning All-Pac-12 pick from Poway, Calif., native picked up her third career honor after UO swept both the returning conference champion Trojans and No. 26 Beavers last week to open Pac-12 play. Two days before on Wednesday, the win over the Beavers was UO’s 11th in the last 13 Civil War meetings.

Plum directed the Duck offense to .357 and .368 hitting marks vs. the Trojans and Beavers – both teams’ opponent season highs (and easily bettered the next-best respective marks of .297 and .305 by returning national champion and then-No. 1 UCLA last week).

Her 48 and 46 assists vs. OSU and USC were the team’s season high for three-set matches, and third- and fourth-best overall behind other four- and five-set match totals (64, 61).

The Duck offense shined as a whole, as four hitters posted +10 kills and +.290 marks vs. the Beavers, and three hitters with +8 kills topped .375 vs. the Trojans.

Her weekend 15.67 assists per set average easily topped her season average entering the week (12.55) that led the nation.

Last weekend, Plum also pushed her career assists tally to 3,034 to become the third Duck setter to connect on 3,000 assists. On the season, the All-Pac-12 setter also ranks third for UO in aces (0.14) and digs (2.03).

Overall for the Ducks, Monday’s weekly honor was the 16th in head coach Jim Moore’s eight years at the helm, and 25th all-time for Oregon since 1986.

The league’s other weekly awards for top defensive player and top freshman both went to Jordan Burgess of Stanford.

Earlier this year, redshirt senior outside hitter Alaina Bergsma picked up similar honors after she won DC Kohl Sports Impact Classic MVP honors in late August. The returning All-American helped Oregon opened the season with sweeps of Toledo and Houston, then rallied from an 0-2 deficit at No. 24 Ohio State to a 3-2 win.

Bergsma enjoyed her school-record-tying fourth honor after she won a pair of honors last year and once in 2010.

Looking ahead to this weekend, Oregon welcomes Utah and Colorado to Matthew Knight Arena for matches on Friday, September 28 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 29 at 7 p.m., respectively.

Friday’s match will be televised by the Pac-12 Network regionally, and promotions-wise is a Yellow Out-Fan Appreciation Night. Spectators that wear yellow a Duck spirit tee can receive a G.A. ticket for only $3 at the door. Against the Utes, season ticket holders can also bring two friends with them to get discounted $2 general admission tickets for each guest.

Fans for Friday's Utah tilt can also bring their Arizona football game ticket stub from last weekend and receive a $1 G.A. ticket at the door.

Against the Buffaloes, kids can get a $1 ticket with a regular-priced adult ticket. The match also offers a Game Show Night theme, and special promotions will be held for fans during the match.
