EUGENE, Ore. – With one week of practice in the books, the Oregon volleyball team will take part in its first open scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 16 at Matt Knight Arena. Both admission and parking for the event are free, with first serve at 7 p.m.

The 15-person roster will be split into a green team and a yellow team, to play a standard match, best-of-five format.

Similar to seasons past, fans will have the opportunity to interact and ask questions of head coach Jim Moore throughout the match.

The scrimmage will be the first time for fans to see the 2014 team which returns four starters from last season, including Second Team All-American and preseason All-Pac-12 selection Liz Brenner. Brenner led the Pac-12 in kills per set and points per set last season and continues to climb Oregon’s career record book where she currently sits sixth in total points and 10th in kills.

She will be joined by returning starters in 2013 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection, Amanda Benson, as well as outside hitter Martenne Bettendorf and middle blocker Serena Warner.

Looking to break into the starting lineup will be a freshman class which was ranked No. 8 in the country and includes three Senior Ace top 60 honorees in Taylor Agost, Frankie Shebby and Maggie Scott.

The Ducks were picked to finish fifth in the Pac-12 by a vote of coaches and was the top team receiving votes in the preseason AVCA poll.

New season tickets for the 2013 season will go on sale Friday, Aug. 15. Fans can purchase tickets online here and can also visit the Duck ticket office or call (1-800-WEB-FOOT) during normal weekday business hours.
