Oregon 80 – Missouri 83
December 2, 2010
Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series
Eugene, Ore.

Oregon Head Coach Dana Altman

On the game:

“Good second half, guys played hard, but I was disappointed with how we approached the guys, it was just as much my fault as it was theirs. We did a great job battling in the second half, I was proud of their second half but I was equally disappointed with their first half. We’ve been a second half team, but we have to turn that around.”

On the crowd:

“The crowd was great, the students stayed with us and stayed involved. It was the only thing keeping us in the game.”

On what needs to change:

“We were not in basketball position; we didn’t come ready to compete. I’m not sure if it was apprehension or not being confident, but we need to play more up and down.”

On Joevan Catron and E.J. Singler:

“They got us going in the second half and got us going. Joevan played his heart out and showed great effort in the second half.”

On what’s next:

“We have to bounce back and play better; we’re a better team than we have been playing. We need to get everyone on the same page.

Jay-R Strowbridge:

On the game:

“We need to have a passion and sense of urgency like we did in the second half. If we played like we did in the second half we could compete and win against anyone in the country. Our press is working and we can learn from this game and work to get better.”

E.J. Singler:

On the game:

“We settled down in the second half, we were rushing in the first half and we were not playing as a team. In the second half we executed well and played as a team. I’m happy with how we played in the second half, but mad about the first half.”

On his performance:

“I had a terrible first half; I need to work on having better first halves.”

On the team atmosphere:

“After this game we (the team) weren’t happy in the locker room to lose by three, it was a hard loss. We just have to learn and move on and have a sense of urgency on Sunday against Portland State. This team doesn’t like to lose, we have so much pride and love for this game.”

Missouri Head Coach Mike Anderson

On Oregon:

“I thought the first half we had great energy…but credit Oregon.  They wouldn’t go away.  The crowd got into it; they made a couple tough shots.  Before you know it it’s a ball game.”

On Missouri’s poise:

“You have to stay poised on the road even in the face of adversity.”

“That Missouri means something on our shirts.  We’re going to get everyone’s best shot.”
