Head Coach Dana Altman
On tonight’s performance…
“We have plenty of things to work on. We’re a little over two weeks into it and we’ve got a lot of new guys out there.  I thought they did some really good things. Defensively the energy was not good, but it’s a start and intensity has to increase in practice.”

On the newcomers of the team…

“We had quite a few minutes where guys who have never played Division One basketball were out there. When EJ gets back I anticipate those moments will be few and far between. We have a long way to go to decide the rotation. Right now we have more questiona than answers.”

On his first impressions of Dominic Artis
“I think he played pretty good. He made plays, hit shots and had some really nice assists. Defensively he really turned it up in the second half. He’s a good player and he’s a guy that’s going to get better and better because he works hard at it.”

On defensive rotations…
“We can do a lot more pressing. I’d like to think this team can press and do a decent job with it.”

Speaking about the freshmen on the team…
“I like the freshmen. I think they have a tremendous upside. They’re a good group.”

Jonathan Loyd
On the first game…
“It was just good to be back playing with everyone. We got to see a lot of good things tonight.”

On the team’s performance…
“We saw we could share the ball well and that we’re good at transistions. We need to get in better shape and play with more heart.”

On the freshmen…
“For me, it took half a season for me to realize that college is a different game; it’s a faster game. Hopefully it’ll happen for these guys.”

On his goals for the season…
“My main focus was to get my shot better and up my percentage.”
