Ducks Lose To Rainbow Wahine, 85-73

Sophomore Amanda Delgado established a new career-high with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field. Delgado made 5-of-11 from behind the 3-point arc. Freshman Jillian Alleyne had 16 points and five rebounds off the bench for UO. Junior Danielle Love added 11 points, while sophomore Jordan Loera contributed 10 points.
The Ducks shot 41.7 percent from the field (25-of-60) and 34.8 percent from behind the 3-point arc (8-of-23). Hawai’i shot 47.1 percent on field goals (32-of-68) and 26.7 percent on 3-pointers (4-of-15). The Ducks made 93.8 percent from the free throw line (15-of-16), but the Rainbow Wahine shot 10 more free throws than UO (17-of-26).
UH also held advantages in rebounds (43-30) and points in the paint (44-18). The Rainbow Wahine’s 14 offensive rebounds led to a 13-0 edge in second-chance points.
Hawai’i was led offensively by Kamilah Martin who tallied a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Martin was one of four UH players to score in double-figures.
The Ducks’ largest lead was six points,16-10, which came after Loera knocked down a 3-pointer with 11:24 left on the first-half clock. Hawai’i out-scored Oregon 33-21 over the rest of the stanza to take a 43-37 lead into the halftime locker room. Loera and Alleyne each had 10 points to lead UO in the first half.
Hawai’i extended its lead to 14 points, 67-53, with 10:20 remaining in the game. The Rainbow Wahine held the Ducks to just two points over the next five minutes, pushing the lead to 26 points, 81-55.
The Ducks battled back to cut the lead to 14 points with 24 seconds in the game after a 10-3 run over the final four minutes.
Oregon (0-3) returns to action Friday with a neutral-site contest against No. 13 Oklahoma with tip-time is set at 4 p.m. (PT).
