Santa Clara Road Trip - Junior Defender Taylor Jones
Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 - 11 a.m.
This weekend is an exciting one for the University of Oregon women's soccer team! We arrived in sunny Northern California early this afternoon. This is our second travel trip of the season, but different from last trip in the sense that we only have one game to focus on this weekend: Santa Clara.
Santa Clara is ranked No. 10 in the nation and all 20 of us could not be more prepared for the challenge. This afternoon, we headed over to campus to practice on their turf field where we had an hour-training session to get a feel for how the weather would be and also see the field where we will be playing.
After practice, we had a team dinner at Pedro's mexican restaurant where we ate until our stomachs hit their limit! As we returned to the hotel, everyone parted ways to watch a movie and get a good nights rest.

IT'S GAMEDAY! After a long nights rest we are up bright and early to mentally prepare ourselves for what is to come at 7:30 tonight. Since we have all day before we play, we have a gameday routine that consists of going on a walk to stretch and wake up, a few hours of downtime to visit with family or get treatment and finally our pregame meal. From there it's all business!
For today's pregame meal we went to Sweet Tomato's, a buffet style restaurant to stalk up on protein and carbs, and of course, hydrating with water! It is almost game time so it's time to focus! You'll hear from us tomorrow. GO DUCKS!
