MEET INFORMATION
The 2010 NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships are hosted by the University of Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ore.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Springfield Country Club, one of Oregon’s premier golf courses, will be the site of the NCAA Cross Country West Regional. Athletes will race entirely on grass and mostly on fairways. The course consists of three relatively flat loops—an outer loop, an inner loop, and a finish loop. The outer loop is approximately 2,320 meters in length, the inner loop is approximately 2,150 meters in length, and the finishing loop is approximately 1,350 meters in length. Please refer to the enclosed map for a depiction of the women’s 6,000 meter course and the men’s 10,000 meter course. Spikes are recommended for competition.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Springfield Country Club is located at 90333 Sunderman Road in Springfield, Ore., about 15 minutes east of Interstate 5.

From I-5 (North or South)
Take the Oregon 126E Exit (194A)
Continue 7.0 miles to to the 42nd Street/Marcola exit.
Make a left on 42nd street for 0.4 miles.
Make a right on Marcola Road for 4.4 miles until you reach the intersection of Marcola and Sunderman Road.
The golf course is on the right.

From Eugene/Springfield
Take 105E/126E and continue on 126E to the 42nd Street/Marcola exit.
Make a left on 42nd street for 0.4 miles.
Make a right on Marcola Road for 4.4 miles until you reach the intersection of Marcola and Sunderman Road.
The golf course is on the right.

To Reach the Reserved Team Parking Lot
From the intersection of Marcola and Sunderman Road, turn right on Sunderman Road
and proceed for 0.4 miles. The Springfield Country Club lot will be on your right.

Bus Parking
College teams that will be arriving in buses are asked to contact Pat Werhane (pwerhane@uoregon.edu, 541-346-2260) so that parking arrangements can be made. After dropping off the teams at the drop-off area described above, parking for buses will be at the Mohawk School (please see enclosed map) and parking for team vans will be at the Clubhouse (please see enclosed map).

SPECTATOR PARKING
Spectator parking will be at the Mohawk Elementary School on Sunderman Road. Shuttle buses will then transport spectators to the course at the Springfield Country Club. Please allow sufficient time to use the park-and-ride shuttle.
To reach the Mohawk Elementary School:
• Take 105E/126E and stay on 126E.
• Take the 42nd Street/Marcola exit and make a left on 42nd street for 0.4 miles.
• Make a right on Marcola for 5.5 miles, going 1 mile past the Springfield Country Club.
• Turn right on Sunderman Road.
• The Mohawk Elementary School will be on your right after ¼ mile.
Signs will be posted on the roads directing traffic to the park-and-ride lot at Mohawk Elementary School.

ADMISSION
Admission to the competition is free.

SCORING
NCAA rules for scoring will be followed. No more than seven (7) runners from each institution may participate. There will be no declarations at the course; each institution is responsible for sending only 7 runners to the start line. All rules and regulations included in the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship Handbook will be followed. The top two (2) teams will automatically qualify for the championship meet on November 22.

RESULTS
Results will be available at NCAA.com and GoDucks.com at the conclusion of the meet.

ATHLETIC MEDICINE
Medical staff will be on site for the course inspection on Friday from 1:00–5:00 p.m. with water, injury ice bags, heating pads, and treatment tables. Beginning two hours prior to competition on Saturday the medical staff will have water, cups, treatment tables, heat pads, modalities (ultrasound and e-stim), injury ice bags, and towels. A physician will also be onsite on Saturday morning.

If your team is not traveling with a certified athletic trainer or if your team has need for treatment other than what is provided, please have your athletic trainer contact Elisha Cusumano at cusumano@uoregon.edu.
