Walker's Pace: Track Clinic Schedule; Jersey Auction
Monday, November 1, 2010, 2:30 p.m.
With the 12:30 p.m. kickoff selected for the Oregon-Washington football game, details have been finalized for the free youth clinic this Saturday at PK Park.
Geared for youths aged 4-12, the clinic at the UO baseball field will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Kids will be instructed by UO athletes and coaches in sprints, standing long jump, hurdles and the "turbo" javelin, and can also participate an "ab lab" to work out core muscles.
Among those UO student-athletes working with the campers will be NCAA champions Brianne Theisen, Travis Thompson, Amber Purvis, Jamesha Youngblood and Michele Williams, in addition to All-Americans Alex Wolff, Mandy White and Jordan Stray, among other current Ducks.
Following the clinic at approximately 11:30 a.m., NCAA champions Ashton Eaton and Andrew Wheating and four-time Pac-10 champion Nicole Blood will join the track & field teams in an autograph session.
Also a reminder that you may still bid on Oregon's special pink jerseys, which were worn in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month at the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Oct. 16. There's a special one autographed by former Duck NCAA champion Andrew Wheating. Click here for a link to the goducks.com on-line auction.
