Tuesday, November 1, 2011
On the heels of its third-place showing at last weekend's Pac-12 Championships, Oregon's men's cross country team jumped six spots to No. 17 in the latest USTFCCCA poll.
The women remained at No. 11 for the second week in a row.
The men were third behind only Colorado and Stanford at the Pac-12 meet. Those two squads were ranked fourth and sixth, respectively, this week.
The women's Pac-12 meet showed why the league is the strongest in the nation. Four of this week's top 11 teams are from the conference, including league champ Colorado at No. 3, Washington at No. 6, Stanford at No. 8 and Oregon at No. 11.
Looking ahead to the Nov. 12 NCAA West Regional, the men will be facing No. 6 Stanford, No. 8 Portland and No. 21 UCLA.
The women will square off against the aforementioned Washington and Stanford, as well as No. 16 Arizona, No. 26 California and No. 27 San Francisco.
Colorado is in the Mountain Region.
