Walker's Pace: Gardner, Berry Move Up Bowerman Lists

Thursday, May 31, 2012

English Gardner and Mike Berry both moved up their respective Bowerman Watch lists following their impressive performances at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in Austin over the weekend.

Gardner earned a promotion to the 10-person offical watch list for the women, joining teammate Brianne Theisen, following her performance in the 100 meters and the 4x100 meter relay. Gardner also won the Pac-12 100 and 200 meters earlier in the month.

Gardner and Theisen were also both NCAA Champions during the indoor season. Gardner took the 60 meters, while Theisen won the pentathlon as the Ducks won their third straight NCAA title. Theisen later won the Pac-12's heptathlon title.

Berry, meanwhile, was added under the men's "also receiving mention" category following his school-record and NCAA-leading 44.86 in the 400 meters at Austin. Jordan Hasay and Anne Kesselring continue to hold their places on the women's "also receiving mention" list.
