The American squad of Cameron Burrell, Aldrich Bailey, Arman Hall and Delaney, a freshman from Gresham, Ore., won heat two in 39.25, edging the Bahamas, which finished second in 39.48.
Both squads advanced to Saturday's final, where they will have to contend with a Japanese team that was victorious in heat two in 39.01, the second-fastest time ever run at the IAAF World Junior meet.
The Americans will also be up against heat three winner Great Britain (39.09) and runner-up Jamaica (39.19) in the final.
