2015 — Finishing the year as the Ducks' eighth-leading tackler (No. 4 underclassman), only six full-time defenders stepped onto the field for more plays than the athletic Houston product despite him officially being inserted into the starting lineup for the final five games . . . Included among his 48 tackles were 7.5 TFLs (equalling team's third best), with two of them taking place at Stanford (along with one fumble recovery) and two more vs. Washington State (in addition to a forced loose football) . . . Playing in all 13 games and extending his consecutive string of appearances to 28 outings, he was credited with a career single-game best of nine tackles (5 unassisted) against the Cougars . . . Also contributed six stops in the win over the Cardinal while taking part in 86 plays . . . Registered his most extensive time on the field with 114 snaps at Arizona State . . . Transitioned to defensive end in the 2016 spring as part of the team's new 4-3 defense.
2014 — Was one of Oregon’s strongest players rushing the passer as an outside linebacker coming off the edge . . . Appearing in all 15 games he demonstrated a nose to make plays, leading the team in forced fumbles with three (vs. Wyoming, California and Florida State) . . . Third on the team in sacks on the year (five) . . . Recorded a career-high 1.5 sacks against Wyoming, but truly peaked in his ability to put pressure on the quarterback towards the end of the year . . . Notched a half a sack or better in three out of the last four games of the year (Oregon State, Arizona – Pac-12 Championship and Florida State) . . . Finished the season with 30 tackles (18 unassisted) while equaling his season-high with five tackles against UCLA and Oregon State . . .Was credited with four tackles against Colorado and contributed three against Wyoming . . . Broke up a pair of passes at Washington State . . . Five of his tackles came on special teams for the kickoff coverage unit . . . Taking to the field for a season-high 74 snaps at UCLA, he failed to log fewer than 30 plays on only two occasions.
2013 — The true freshman displayed tendencies of becoming a big-play artist as he was particularly effective coming off the edge from the line of scrimmage . . . He also was a standout on special teams, registering the team’s third-most tackles covering kicks (8) . . . Was credited with 14 tackles in 11 games, including quarterback sacks against Nicholls, California, and Oregon State . . . Posted tackles in eight games, including a season-high five stops (3 unassisted) and one forced fumble vs. the Colonels, a recovered loose football at Washington, and broke up a pair of passes vs. the Golden Bears . . . Experienced his most play in the season opener, taking part in 34 snaps vs. Nicholls.
BEFORE OREGON — Described as an athletic standout who is extremely quick off the line of scrimmage and has thrived as an outstanding pass rusher . . . The four-star athlete was prominently featured on the Rivals250 listing as No. 7 in the country at his position and 22nd among prospects within the state of Texas . . . Also rated 125th in the nation by Scout.com and was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl . . . Responsible for creating a single-game highlight reel in a 28-7 win over Cy-Fair by accumulating 10 tackles, four quarterback sacks, one forced fumble, a fumble return for a touchdown and an interception return for another score – all in the same game . . . The All-Greater Houston second-team defensive line selection Is one of a trio of the program’s 2012 defensive ends to sign Division I letters-of-intent as the Lions finished the year with an 8-4 record and a second-round loss in the Texas state playoffs . . . Afforded 5A all-state honorable mention by the Texas Associated Press sports editors following a junior campaign in which he posted 53 tackles and 12 quarterback sacks.
