2014-15: Cross Country – Opened season by winning the Bill Dellinger in 24:24 (8,000 meters) for his fourth consecutive cross country win dating back to the 2013 season ... Kept his winning streak intact at the Battle for Beantown as he took medalist honors in 24:20 (8,000 meters) … Led a 1-2-5-6 finish as the Ducks took the team title in Boston.
2013-14: Outdoor – Was an NCAA Champion in the 10,000 meters with a time of 28:30.18, which is good for sixth in school history and a personal record. Ran the eighth fastest time in NCAA history with a mark of 13:18.71 in a runner-up finish in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Championships. A Bowerman Award finalist. Was the Pac-12 runner-up at 1,500 meters in a personal best 3:36.50 to help the Ducks win their eighth straight league crown. Earned USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors on April 28. Also a two-time athlete of the week. Finished first in the 5,000 meters at the Oregon Relays (13:46.77). Member of the 4xmile team that ran the sixth fastest time in NCAA history at the Penn Relays with a time of 16:09.67. Also a member of the team that took first at the Penn Relays with the seventh best time in NCAA history in the distance medley relay (9:25.40). Indoors – Was an NCAA Champion in the 3k (8:11.59) and 5k (13:46.67). Named the USTFCCCA Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Won every race during the indoor season, including the distance medley relay (9:28.91) at the UW Invitational, the 5,000 meters at the Husky Classic (13:40.51) and the 3,000 meters at the MPSF Championships (7:47.20). His 3K time at the MPSF Championships was the second fastest time in school history. Cross Country - Became the first freshman ever in Oregon cross country history to win the NCAA Cross Country Championships with a time of 29:41.1. Named the USTFCCCA Athlete of the year as a well as the Division I West Region Athlete of the Year and the Pac-12 Athlete of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after an historic freshman season. Also earned All-America and first-team All-Pac-12 honors in the process. Kicked off his collegiate career at Oregon with a first-place finish with a 24:11 8,000 meter time in Boston, Mass., at the Coast to Coast Battle in Beantown and guided the Ducks to a their first win of the season. Followed up with a second-place finish at the Eighth Annual Bill Dellinger Invitational clocking in at 24 minutes flat as the men of Oregon won their second-straight meet. Claimed his third-straight top-five finish with a 23:32.95 time (8,000 meters) for fourth-place and guided UO to a second-place finish at the NCAA Pre-National race in Terra Haute, Ind. Became the first freshman in Oregon history to win the Pac-12 Cross Country Championship title crossing the finish line at 24:36 at the Pac-12 Conference Championships in Louisville, Colo. Became the first Duck since Galen Rupp (2007 & ’09) to claim the NCAA West Regional title with a time of 29:35 on the 10,000-meter course at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. Prep: Broke the 49 year-old boys’ national indoor high school two-mile record at the 2013 Millrose Games in New York City. Finished in 8:39.15 to take down the 8:40 run by Gerry Lindgren of Rogers High in Spokane, Wash., in 1964. Was the 2013 Gatorade National Cross Country Runner of the Year and didn’t lose a prep cross country race since 2010, when he finished second as a freshman at the Nike National Championships. Included in his winning streak were two Footlocker national cross country titles, as he become just the fourth boy to win twice. Impressively, he broke cross country course records in 12 of his 21 career high school starts. Outdoors on the track in 2013, won the Essex County championship in the 800 (1:50.84) and then turned around and won the state title at 3,200 meters (9:08.63). Was an eight time high school national champion for St. Benedict’s Prep. In addition to breaking the national indoor two-mile mark, which ranks fourth in all conditions, also holds the national indoor record in the 5,000 meters, 13:57.04, a time that is No. 7 in all conditions. Is also ranked second in the indoor mile (4:02.21), fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:00.11) and eighth in the 10,000 meters (29:42.31).
