SURREY, B.C., Canada – Former Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year and Oregon Duck Jessica Moore allowed just one run for Team USA against Australia Monday, but Australia prevailed 2-1 to advance to the finals of the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship. Moore scattered four hits in four and a third innings, collecting three strike outs in a no decision.

Australia scored their only run on Moore in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single. Team USA responded with the game-tying run in the bottom of the seventh, but Australia sealed their appearance in the finals with a run in the top of the eighth inning.

Moore threw a one-hit shutout against Australia earlier in the tournament.

The loss eliminated Team USA, who included one former and current Oregon standout; Moore and sophomore-to-be Cheridan Hawkins. Japan defeated Australia in the championship game, 2-0.
