SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Former Oregon All-American Jessica Moore tossed a complete game shutout for the USA Softball Women’s National Team against Brazil in the Pan American Games Qualifier on Sunday. Moore earned the win in the circle, allowing just three hits in Team USA’s 11-0, five-inning win over Brazil.
The Red, White and Blue scored six runs in the first inning, three in the fourth and another two in the fifth to win handily.
Moore, a first team All-American selection last season, allowed just four players to reach first base in the decisive victory.
Team USA improves to 2-0 in round-robin play at the Pan American Games, and will return to action today with a contest against Cuba. Moore and sophomore Cheridan Hawkins led USA to a victory over Cuba last week in the Mayor’s Cup, as the Oregon duo allowed just one run to cross the board.
