WACO, Texas—The University of Oregon acrobatics and tumbling team completed a perfect regular season with a 281.30-266.275 victory over the Baylor Bears Saturday in Waco, Texas. Oregon advances to 6-0, while the Bears drop to 2-3. Oregon’s 281.30 is the third highest total in the NCATA this year.

“Now we focus on the championship,” said head coach Felecia Mulkey. “We have some things to improve on. We want to keep improving until we walk off the mat the final time this year.”

Oregon started the meet off with a close victory in the Compulsory round, earning a 37.85-36.30 edge. The Ducks extended the lead in the Acro round, totaling 28.95 points to Baylor’s 26.50 points to go up by an even four points. UO’s score is good for third best this season in the NCATA.

In the Pyramid round, UO continued to excel as it doubled its lead to eight points after topping Baylor 29.5-25.5. Oregon’s 29.5 is again good for third best this season in the league.

After halftime, the Ducks outscored the Bears 28.9-26.9 in the Toss round, adding two points to their lead. The Toss score equaled Oregon’s score from its Fairmont State meet that was good for second in the league. Next, Oregon had a close battle in the Tumbling round, just edging Baylor 56.95-56.78.

“We struggled a little bit in tumbling tonight. Nicole Erlichman and Natasha Katzaroff pulled us up in that event. Natasha scored a career personal best with a 9.98.”

Up 182.15-171.98 before the Team Routine, the Ducks finished strong, scoring a 99.15 to seal the victory and the perfect regular season. Baylor scored a 94.295 in its Team Routine.

Oregon next takes the mat when it travels to Hamden, Conn. on April 25-27 to compete in the NCATA National Championships.
