Heineman Named Starter In Cape Cod League All-Star Game

EUGENE, Ore. – Scott Heineman has been named the starting center fielder for the Eastern Division All-Stars in the 2013 Friendly’s Cape League All-Star Game on July 27. The game will be televised by Fox College Sports at 1:30 p.m. (PT).

Heineman, who plays for the Brewster Whitecaps, is batting a team-best .340 with two home runs and 20 stolen bases. He leads the Whitecaps in batting average, home runs, stolen bases, at bats (106), runs (18), hits (36), doubles (6) and triples (3). He leads the Cape Cod League in both stolen bases and triples, while ranking ninth in batting average and 13th in doubles.

Heineman has 11 multi-hit games in the 27 he has played, including two 3-hit games, a four-hit game and a five-hit game. He also has five games with multiple stolen bases.

Fox Sports College is on channel 623 on DirecTV and channel 262 on Comcast. The all-star game can also be heard on WCAI Cape and Islands NPR Station.
