SAN JUAN, Peurto Rico – Jessica Moore tossed a two-hitter and led the USA Softball Women’s National Team to a 7-0 victory over Argentina at the Pan American Games Qualifier Wednesday. Behind Moore’s efforts, Team USA moves to 5-0 in pool play while Moore improved her tournament record to 2-0.
The former Oregon All-American allowed two hits and a walk, and struck out four batters in a dominating performance. The Duck’s all-time winningest pitcher hasn’t allowed a single run in both of her starts at the Pan American Games Qualifier, allowing a total of five hits in ten innings of work.
With Moore taking the wind out of the Argentina offense, Team USA entered the bottom of the fifth inning with a 3-0 lead. The Red, White and Blue scored four runs in the inning to end the game via run-rule and advance with a 7-0 win.
