BREMERTON, Wash. Thomas Lim shined in his debut as a Duck, winning the individual tournament at the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational with a 12-under par and carded a final line of 68-67-66—201 Tuesday afternoon. Lim, along with four other Ducks competed as individuals, separate from the team competition,  on the par-71/ 6,707 yard Cascade Course  against other individuals from other universities.

Oregon (292-288-295—4 875 (+11)) dropped a couple spots on the final day of competition and finished in a three-way tie for seventh with San Diego State and Southern California in its season opener on the Olympic Course.

Washington came away victorious for its second consecutive title in as many years, with a commanding 19-stroke lead over the closest competitor in Arizona State (291-289-285—865 (+1)) posting a final card of (279-286-282—847 (-17)). The Huskies' Cheng-Tsung Pan (68-70-67—205 (-11)) defended his title and claimed his second Husky Invitational win shooting 5-under in the final round.

Ryann Ree (71-70-73—214) notched his first top-10 finish and led the Ducks with a final score of 2-under par tying for seventh-place. Rak Cho carded a final score of (76-74-71—221 (+5)) to conclude the tournament tied for 32nd. Junior Jonathan Woo (77-70-74—221 (+5)) wrapped up round three 2-over par to share the 32nd spot with fellow Duck Cho.

The Olympic Course however was not as friendly for other Ducks in round three as Sulman Raza (T57, 71-80-77—228 (+12)) and Zach Foushee (T50, 74-74-77—225 (+9)) both tabbed a 5-over-par score. Raza struggled in the final two rounds of the invite totaling a combined score of 13-over compared to his 1-under card in round one. Like Raza, Foushee wasn’t able to recover from a pair of double-bogies.

Brandon McIver played well for UO finishing in a tie for third to open his 2013 season in the individual tournament. The sophomore shot 69 on the final day of competition and finished the tournament with a card of (73-69-69—211 (-2)). McIver was only one-of-five golfers to have shot under par on the Cascade Course.

The Ducks return to the links next Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 23-24, as UO heads to Monterey, Calif. for the Saint Mary’s Invitational at the Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course.
