WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – University of Oregon sophomore Bralon Addison was honored by the Pac-12 Conference as its Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance as a punt returner in the Ducks’ 55-16 win over California Saturday night in Autzen Stadium.
Addison returned a pair of punts for 142 yards and two touchdowns in a continual driving rainstorm, including scoring efforts of 75 and 67 yards in the second and third quarter, respectively. The two touchdown returns tied an Oregon and conference single-game record for most punt returns for scores in a single game. He joins Cliff Harris as the only other player in school history to duplicate that feat (vs. New Mexico in 2010), while they join USC’s Mike Garrett (1965 vs. California) and UCLA’s Sam Brown (1954 vs. Stanford) as co-holders of the league record.
The Missouri City, Texas standout currently leads the country in punt returns, averaging 36.5 yards on six returns.
It marks the Ducks’ second Pac-12 player-of-the-week accolade they have received this season. De'Anthony Thomas was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week following his efforts in a 59-10 win at Virginia.
