Quarterback Marcus Mariota was named Pac-12 offensive player of the week today, following his seven-touchdown performance in Oregon’s 57-16 win at Colorado on Saturday.
Mariota, a sophomore from Honolulu, was 16-of-27 passing for 355 yards and five touchdowns against the Buffaloes. He also ran seven times for 43 yards and two touchdowns.
Entering Oregon’s game at Washington on Saturday, Mariota is eighth nationally in pass efficiency rating (176.33), second in points responsible for (126), second in yards per carry (12.07) and ninth in total offense (339.2 ypg).
Mariota is the third Duck player honored by the conference this season. De’Anthony Thomas was named offensive player of the week for his performance at Virginia, and Bralon Addison was named special teams player of the week after two punt return touchdowns against Cal.
