STANFORD, Calif. – The University of Oregon women’s golf team continues its fall season this week, competing at the Stanford Invitational on Oct. 25-27 at the Stanford University Golf Course. Head coach Ria Scott and the Ducks are looking to extend its season-opening streak of three consecutive top five team finishes.

The Ducks need to put up more solid numbers to do so, competing in one of the most challenging fields in the nation. The Stanford Invitational features 13-of-16 teams ranked in the top 50 by GolfStat, including five top 10 teams.

Tee time will begin at 8:30 a.m. (PT) Friday and Saturday while Sunday’s final round will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Live results are available at golfstat.com. The tournament is held on the Stanford University Golf Course, a par 71, 6,130 yard track.

“Our returners in the lineup have some incredible experience on this golf course from competing in the Stanford Intercollegiate every year and also advancing from NCAA West Regionals here last spring,” said Scott. “We already have some great memories on this golf course, but are also looking forward to creating new ones.”

The Ducks have opened the season with three quality performances; fifth at the 15-team Mary Fossum Invitational, second at the 16-team Dick McGuire Invitational and fourth at the 13-team Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. Oregon has improved to No. 30 in the GolfWeek national rankings and to No. 33 in the GolfStat rankings. The Ducks have been in the top 5 on the team leaderboard after each of their nine rounds this season.

Oregon is hitting the links for the first time in two weeks with their last action coming at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Washington. Oregon carded rounds of 296, 294 and 313 to shoot a 54-hole total of 903 (+39) and place fourth in the 13-team field. Sophomore Caroline Inglis led the Ducks with her second top five finish of the season, shooting a 221 (+5). Freshmen Marcella Pranovia and Cathleen Santoso also tallied top 20 finishes, as each tied for 16th at 9-over (225).

Oregon’s average team score has been well under 300 this season at 298.6. Inglis and junior Cassy Isagawa have been Oregon’s aces as each have a 73.5 stroke average and two top 10 finishes. Santoso (74.4) and Pranovia (75) have also paced the team.

Scott is trying her fourth lineup of the season as junior Cali Hipp returns to the fold. She previously competed in the top 5 lineup at the Dick McGuire Invitational and also competed individually at the Mary Fossum Invitational, placing 15th for her best finish of the season. The Ducks are yet to count a score from the No. 5 position.

Following the Stanford Invitational, the Ducks close the fall season Nov. 4-5 at the Pac-12 Preview. The tournament is held at the Nanea Golf Club in Kohala, Hawai’i.
