UO Acrobatics and Tumbling Signs 7

EUGENE, Ore. – The UO acrobatics and tumbling team signed seven prep standouts to National Letters of Intent, head coach Felecia Mulkey announced Monday. The three-time defending NCATA national champions will welcome seven talented newcomers for the 2014-15 season.

Mulkey’s signing class consists of three Oregon products, two natives of California, one from Washington and one from Colorado.


Carlie Norczyk
5’2 | Base | Downey, Calif. (Downey HS)

Norczyk made the Scottish national gymnastics team on three occasions. She qualified for the U.S. Western Nationals at the age of 13. Norczyk is also a talented pole vaulter, setting the freshman school record on the event in high school and placing runner-up in the San Gabriel League on the event in 2012. She is a three-time honor roll student that has won three scholar athlete awards in high school.

“Carlie is a strong tumbler and base,” said Mulkey. “She is a versatile athlete that will make her an asset in several different events.”


Taylor Galvin
5’4 | Back | Lake Forest, Calif. (El Toro HS)

Galvin is a native of Lake Forest, Calif., with significant gymnastics experience. Galvin was a California level 9 gymnastics state champion and a level 9 Western Qualifier where she was a top 10 finalist. Galvin is also a Gymnastics Elite qualifier. She was the captain of her high school cheer team and has been named to the Dean’s List four times.

“Taylor’s impeccable tumbling technique will be key in our tumbling heats,” said Galvin. “Her cleanliness, power and variety will make her a go-to player. Her strength will allow her to compete in multiple events.”


 Annelyse Robinson
5’3 | Base | Wilsonville, Ore. (Wilsonville HS)

Robinson is a seven-year gymnastics veteran out of Wilsonville, Ore. She won all four events and the all-around title in the 2007 Oregon State Championships. She competed for the Oregon Dream Team club program and is a competitive cheerleader at Wilsonville High. Robinson is a two-year letterwinner and earned honor roll academic honors last season.

“Annelyse has a great work ethic and will be a great addition to our tumbling arsenal with her variety of skills and form,” said Mulkey. “Her strength will make her valuable in acrobatics, toss and pyramid events as well. Her varied background provides her with a lot of competitive experience.”


Cheyenne Holliday
5’3 | Base | Boring Ore. (Sandy HS)

 Holliday has eight years of competitive cheer experience at her club program, Thunder Elite. She placed third in the 2012 Oregon state individual competition and is a four-year letter winner on her varsity high school cheerleading team.

“Cheyenne’s hard work and no nonsense work ethic will pave the way for her development in this sport,” said Mulkey. “Her strength will make her valuable in the acrobatics, pyramid and toss heats, and her competitive experience will be ideal for the team routine.”


Kaylee Nicklos
5’8 |Back Base | Bellevue, Wash. (Newport HS)

Nicklos is an honor student at Newport High School who has competed in gymnastics for 10 years at Gymnastics East. She was a 2010 regional champion on bars. Nicklos is a four-time All-American on her competitive cheer club – South Elite. She was also a member of her high school cheerleading and diving teams.

“Kaylee’s height and strength is going to be an asset in our toss, acrobatics and pyramid events,” said Mulkey. “Her technique and variety in tumbling will also make her a candidate for tumbling events.”


Maddy Hite
5’7 |Back Base | Corvallis, Ore. (Crescent Valley HS)

Hite is a native of Corvallis, Ore., with extensive gymnastics experience. She qualified for the 2012 Western National Gymnastics Championships with the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics located in Eugene. Hite is currently a member of the Oregon Dream Teams.

“Maddy’s clean tumbling technique, power and potential will make her an asset in the tumbling heats and team routine,” said Mulkey. “Her body control will be ideal for training acrobatics.”


Sabrina Peyton
5’4 |Back Base | Aurora, Colo. (Grandview HS

Peyton is a native of Aurora, Colo., attending Grandview High School. She is a level 8 regional qualifier in gymnastics. Peyton won the 2012 Class 5A Colorado State Championships with her high school cheerleading team. She’s also a two-time academic letter winner at Grandview HS.

“Sabrina is an extremely talented athlete,” said Mulkey. “Her leadership qualities drew our staff to her. Her work ethic and competitive mindset will make her an asset on game day.”
