WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Laura Roesler was named the Pac-12 Conference Outdoor Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for March 31-April 6, the conference announced, Tuesday.
Roesler helped the Ducks to a 106-52 win at the Pepsi Dual against Arizona, setting a meet record in the 800 meters. She cruised to a win in 2:01.10, the fastest time in the NCAA this season by more than three seconds. The senior is the two-time defending Pac-12 Champion in the 800 and claimed a national title in the event during the 2014 indoor season.
Roesler is the second-straight UO runner to claim Pac-12 women’s track athlete of the week honors, as Jenna Prandini was named track athlete of the week, April 1.
Oregon will be off this week before competing at Hayward Field for the Oregon Relays, April 17-19, while also taking part in the Mt. SAC Relays during the same three days.
