EUGENE, Ore. – With the championship season nearly upon us, two of Oregon’s NCAA hopefuls will be the featured guests at the next “TrackTown Tuesday” event at the Downtown Athletic Club on May 6.

Senior Mac Fleet and freshman Brittany Mann will talk about their preparation and goals for the Pac-12 Championships, May 17-18, in Pullman, Wash.

The free one-hour event begins at 7 p.m.

Doors open to the public at 6 p.m. Appetizers will be available for purchase and $3 will get you a pint of beer poured by Hop Valley Brewing Company. Free parking can be found at the adjacent Overpark.

TrackTown USA president Vin Lananna will serve as host of the festivities and former University of Oregon three-sport standout Jordan Kent will be the master of ceremonies.

Oregon Track Club Elite will be represented at the show by five newcomers to its stable of men’s middle distance runners – Harun Abda, Aaron Evans, Patrick Casey, Matt Maldonado and Jordan Schilit, all of whom will be competing at the UO Twilight Meet.

Under the tutelage of the OTC Elite coaching staff, this talented group has made impressive strides since arriving in TrackTown USA, and you’ll be able to learn about their favorite workouts and individual aspirations.

Prior to the show, the Eugene Marathon will host a 3.5-mile fun run, with the first 100 participants receiving a wristband that entitles them to a commemorative pint glass and beverage of choice at the TrackTown Tuesday event. Interested runners and walkers should show up at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of 8th and Oak streets in downtown Eugene.

We’ll also unveil the 2014 Eugene Marathon course with a time-lapse video and official race poster.

As always, there will be random prize drawings for tickets to the NCAA Championships, June 11-14, and the IAAF World Junior Championships, July 22-27.

The next “TrackTown Tuesday” will be June 3.
