EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon softball program has signed transfer 1B/RHP Geri Ann Glasco, head coach Mike White announced on Thursday.

Glasco, a native of Watkinsville, Ga., played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia and will have two years of eligibility left with the Ducks, starting immediately.

Glasco, a first baseman, was also the No. 2 pitcher for the Bulldogs.

"Geri Ann is a tremendous addition to our program and heralds from a softball rich family," White said. "Offensively, Geri Ann adds power from the left side coupled with excellent plate discipline which will add up to a lot of runs for us this season. Geri Ann is also an accomplished pitcher who adds a ton of depth to our staff with her ability to throw in the mid to upper 60s. Her softball IQ and competitive nature fit very well with our program as we look to build on the team’s success last year."

Glasco brings a very impressive resume to Eugene, as she was the SEC Co-Freshman of the Year in 2013 and the Gatorade National Player of the Year as a senior at Oconee County High School.

Glasco was a an All-American in her freshman season after hitting .363 with 19 home runs and 61 RBIs. She also posted a 17-8 record with a 3.38 ERA in 137 innings in her first season with the Bulldogs.

Last year, as a sophomore, Glasco hit .297 with 10 home runs but her 53 walks, the 10th most in the NCAA, helped her to a .465 on-base percentage. She improved in the circle in her second collegiate season, going 16-5 with a 2.53 ERA in 143.2 innings. She struck out 109 batters while making 26 starts.
