EUGENE - Senior Eugene Wong and the No. 14 University of Oregon men's golf team staked impressive showings in the Oregon Duck Invitational Monday, and led the individual and team standings after the event's first two rounds held at the Eugene Country Club.

In its lone home event of the season, UO (284-279-563) owned a one-stroke lead over Long Beach State (second, 280-284-564). No. 34 St. Mary's followed in third place (287-289-576), and Oregon State (fourth, 295-289-584) and San Francisco (fifth, 295-293-588) rounded out the top five in the 14-team field.

On the individual leaderboard, the Ducks' Wong (69-69-138) was tied for the lead with Anders Engell of St. Mary's (70-68-138) with their six-under scores Monday.

The North Vancouver, B.C. native shot his 13th and 14th under-par rounds this season and 42nd and 43rd career-wise. He also paced UO in both rounds to give him eight honors this year and 28 in the former Nickalaus Award winner's collegiate career.

Duck senior Daniel Miernicki (71-69-140) and Philip Chian of Long Beach State (70-70-140) followed two strokes back in a tie for third place.

Two other official entries for the Ducks stood top 10 overall - senior Andrew Vijarro (fifth-tie, 71-70-141) and redshirt junior Robbie Ziegler (ninth-tie, 73-71-144). Freshman Rak Cho (72nd-tie, 79-81-16) rounded out UO's team entries.
