STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 12 University of Oregon men's golf team celebrated its second team win of the week and fifth of the season Sunday with its one-stroke decision over No. 8 USC in the final round of the U.S. Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course.
On the individual front, Duck senior Daniel Miernicki (first, 66-72-66-204) tied the tourney low round with his four-under 66 Sunday and won by five strokes over the UCLA pair of Pedro Figueiredo (second-tie, 67-74-68-209) and Jay Hwang (second-tie, 70-71-68-209) and USC's Sam Smith (second-tie, 70-69-70-209).
Miernicki shot five birdies in the final round on the par-5 first, seventh and 16th holes and par-3 eighth and 17 holes. He added par scores on 12 holes (#2-6, 9-15) and had only one bogey on the day on the 18th.
