SAMMAMISH, Wash. – University of Oregon freshman Cassy Isagawa capped action in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational third and final round Wednesday with the No. 34 Ducks’ top finish of the fall season.

The Wailuku, Hawai’i native shot her third round of par or better in the tourney with Wednesday’s final-round par score to tie for second overall (72-71-72-215). That one-under tournament score tied UO’s 10th-best total in school history and was its best both place- and scoring-wise in its 16th trip to the Washington-hosted event.

In the overall standings, she finished one stroke behind Nebraska’s Madeleine Sheils (first-73-74-67-214) who was the only player in the field to break 70 during the tourney on the par 72, 6,003-yard Sahalee Golf Course.

Washington’s Jennifer Yang (73-70-72-215) added a 72 Wednesday to tie Isagawa for second place overall, and Colorado’s Alex Stewart followed two strokes back in fourth place (70-75-72-217).

Overall for the Ducks, the team’s other four entries also placed top 30 overall – senior Ashley Edwards (12th-tie, 77-75-76-228), junior Cheyenne Hickle (21st-tie, 76-76-77-229), sophomore Raphaela Dyer (25th-tie, 76-75-79-230) and freshman Monica Petchakan (30th-tie, 82-74-77-233).

Glancing at player scorecards, Isagawa carded four birdies on the last six holes (#13-14, 16-17), added 11 par scores (#2-6, 8-10, 12, 15, 18), two bogeys (#1, 11) and one double-bogey (#11).

Other Duck birdie/par counts from the final round follow: Edwards (4/10), Petchakan (2/10), Dyer (2/8) and Hickle (1/11).

In the team standings, No. 16 Colorado (299-296-301-896) ended with a two-stroke advantage over No. 34 Oregon (second, 301-295-302-898).

UO finished ahead of two more top-25 ranked teams - No. 16 California (third-tie, 299-296-305-900) and No. 21 Washington (third-tie, 303-294-303-900) – and Oregon State (fifth, 298-313-309-920) rounded out the top five.

Looking ahead, Oregon returns to action in two weekends in the Stanford Intercollegiate, Friday-Sunday, October 14-16. More tourney information is available at the website.
