Ducks Drop Two Spots at Pac-12ís In Second Round

           Eugene, Ore.- The University of Oregon women’s golf team (307-300-607) dropped two spots into seventh place after two rounds at the Pac-12 Championships. The 21st ranked Ducks shot 12-over on the day at the par-72 Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash. and now sit at 31 shots over par after two rounds. The weather conditions calmed down today, with warmer temperature in the mid 50’s and calm winds. Today's average round was five shots fewer than round one.

            Cassy Isagawa (76-72-148) shot an even par today, and stayed in a tie for seventh place after two rounds at four-over par.

“Today was a very easy going round,” Isagawa said. “(I) Didn’t really make much happen today, so it was very steady. I didn’t make a lot of mistakes out there today, but I did leave a lot out there. Tomorrow I think I just need to have the same mind set as today and just grind it out tomorrow.”

            The freshman was the Ducks’ sharp shooter of the day, earning her 17th round as the lowest scorer. Also finishing in the top-25 was senior Ashley Edwards (77-74-151), who finished in a tie for 24th place. Edwards shot a two-over on the day and is seven-over after two rounds.

            Rounding out the scorecard for the Ducks was freshman Cali Hipp (77-75-152), dropping 13 spots into a tie for 29th after shooting three-over on the day and junior Cheyenne Hickle (77-79-156), who shot seven-over and finished in a tie for 43rd. Raphaela Dyer also made the trip for Oregon, completing the second round at 10-over.

            On the team leader board, 13th ranked Cal (306-283-589) jumped up two spots into first place after shooting five-under 283. Three spots behind Cal, No. 12 Colorado (308-284-592) shot four-under on the day, moving into second place overall. Top-ranked UCLA (304-290-594) fell one spot into third place after shooting two-over in the second round.

Arizona State’s Giulia Molinaro (71-74-145) and California’s Daniela Holmqvist (77-68-145) top the individual leader board in a tie for first place at one-over after two rounds. Holmqvist jumped from a tie for 16th into first place after shooting a field-best 68 on the day. Colorado’s Jennifer Coleman (74-72-146) and UCLA’s Erynne Lee (74-72-146) both dropped from a tie at second, into a tie for third place at two-over after two rounds.
