Inglis Qualifies For U.S. Public Links Match Play

NESHANIC STATION, N.J. - Incoming University of Oregon freshman Caroline Inglis added another impressive accomplishment to crowded resume after Tuesday's second round of the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.

The Eugene, Ore., native (54th, 72-76-148) stood at four-over after two rounds on the par-72 Neshanic Valley Golf Course and advanced to Wednesday's match play round of 64.

On Monday, her even-par 72 score included two birdies (#4, #17), 14 par scores (#1, 3, 5-9, 11-16, 18) and two bogeys (#2, 10).

On Tuesday, she came back with an eagle (#7), one birdie (#16), 11 par scores (#1-3, 6, 10, 12-15, 17-18), four bogeys (#4, 5, 8, 11) and one triple-bogey (8).

In the overall standings, Lisa McCloskey (70-67-137) owned a one-stroke lead on the field with her seven-under overall score. Karen Cheng (70-68-138) and Steffi Neisen (70-68-138) followed one stroke back in a tie for second place.

Looking ahead, the #57 seed Inglis faces #8 seed Annie Park Wednesday with their tee time set for 5:27 a.m. PT. The winner will play a round of 32 match on Thursday at 4:50 a.m. PT.

A round of 16 will also be contested Thursday afternoon, while quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be held Friday, and the final follows on Saturday.
