HALF MOON BAY, Calif. - After shooting a 297 second round - the best of the day - the No. 37 University of Oregon women's golf team was tied for second place after the first two rounds of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Monday.

The Ducks (304-297-601) were tied with Long Beach State (297-304-601), five strokes behind No. 27 Texas A&M (first, 298-298-596).

UO was followed by two other top-35 ranked teams - No. 31 Colorado (fourth, 295-300-604) and No. 17 UC Davis (sixth, 309-302-611) - while Texas Tech (fifth, 307-299-606) rounded out the top five.

Individually for Oregon, sophomore Cheyenne Hickle (fourth-tie, 77-71-148) posted her first under-par round of the season (and third career-wise), and her second-round score led UO for the seventh time this year.

Freshman Raphaela Dyer (17th-t, 75-76-151) paced UO the first round with senior Kendra Little (54th-t, 75-84-159), while UO's other team entries also stood top 25 at Monday's close - senior Erica Omlid (21st-t, 77-75-152) and junior Ashley Edwards (21st-t, 77-75-152).

Sophomore Avery Sills (43rd-t, 79-78-157) also played as an individual, as did senior Monika Graf who had to withdraw due to a pre-existing shoulder injury.

Leading UO with seven birdies on the day, Hickle logged four birdies in the second round on the eighth, nine, 12th and 18th holes, and three in the opening round on the second, 17th and 18th holes. Among other birdie counts, she was followed by Dyer (5), Omlid (4), Ashley Edwards (3), Sills (2) and Little (1).

Overall on the individual leaderboard, Natalie Reeves of Texas A&M (73-71-144) owned a one-stroke lead over Lauren Weaver of Northwestern (second, 69-76-145). Emily Talley of Colorado trailed in third place (74-73-147) on the par-72 Half Moon Bay Golf Links course.
