TEMPE, Ariz. - University of Oregon senior Kendra Little celebrated a four-under 68 - the best score in Tuesday's Pac-10 Championships final round - and ended one stroke shy of her career best en route to a sixth-place finish (72-77-68-217).

Team-wise on ASU's par-72 Karsten Golf Course, No. 33 Oregon finished seventh (290-306-296-892) en route to its second-best tourney score of the spring, and place-wise equaled its pre-tourney seeding.

Besting a field that featured five top-10 teams, No. 2 USC (first, 282-291-291-864) won by five strokes over No. 7 Arizona (second, 290-290-289-869).

No. 1 UCLA (third, 284-300-289-873) improved one position Tuesday, and was followed by No. 9 California (fourth, 293-295-292-880), No. 24 Stanford (fifth, 282-298-304-884) and No. 10 Arizona State (sixth, 304-296-291-891).

Trailing UO, No. 38 Washington placed eighth (307-299-308-914), ahead of Oregon State (ninth, 309-304-315-928) and Washington State (10th, 323-315-304-942).

Tying the best score among the 149 tourney rounds played since Sunday, Little jumped 14 places in the overall standings Tuesday to enjoy the second top-10 Pac-10 finish of her career.

The Eugene native's score Tuesday was her eighth at par or better this season and 38th overall among her 131 for the Ducks career-wise. She also paced UO for the 13th time this campaign and 55th time altogether.

Her season-best tying score Tuesday also fell one stroke shy of her five-under career low that she has shot four times in past seasons.

Last year, the three-time All-Pac-10 Second Team pick turned in UO's all-time best Pac-10 finish (third) at the Eugene Country Club-hosted event after she took 12th in ’09 and 20th in ’08.

Senior Erica Omlid (15th-tie, 71-75-75-221) polished off her best league championships finish after she led Oregon the first and second rounds.

The Duck contingent also included junior Ashley Edwards (22nd-tie, 72-77-76-225) who claimed her third top-25 Pac-10 finish, and freshman Raphaela Dyer (33rd-tie, 75-77-77-229) and sophomore Cheyenne Hickle (35th, 76-78-77-231).

Glancing at Tuesday's scorecards, Little carded seven par scores on the par-4 second, fourth and eighth holes; par-5 fifth, 10th and 14th holes; and par-3 16th. She added par scores on eight other holes (#3, 6, 9, 12-13, 15, 17-18), to go along with bogeys on holes #1, 7 and 11.

Two other Ducks added three birdies Tuesday - Omlid (#2, 13, 14) and Edwards (#7, 10, 14) - while Dyer (#14, 16) Hickle (#11) claimed two and one, respectively.

Tourney birdie counts for each Duck follow: Little (11), Edwards (7), Omlid (7), Dyer (6) and Hickle (5).

Overall on the individual leaderboard, USC's Sophia Popov (first, 69-71-70-210) topped UCLA's Tiffany Lua (68-72-70-210) for the individual title in a playoff, while two-time defending champion Carlota Ciganda of Arizona State followed in third place (74-69-70-213).

Looking ahead, UO hopes to receive an invitation next week to one of the three NCAA Regionals set for Seattle, South Bend, Ind., and DeLand, Fla., May 17-20. The top eight team finishers from each regional advance to the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas, May 17-20.
