Isagawa second, No. 20 Ducks finish eighth in Big Easy
Release Date: 02/28/2012
Freshman Cassy Isagawa (71-65-76-212) shot four-over on the day, finishing in second place overall. Isagawa’s low round of 65 yesterday tied the Oregon school record and broke the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate tournament record, which helped her place second.
Also finishing in top 30 were freshman Cali Hipp (25th-tie, 68-79-76- 223) and sophomore Raphaela Dyer (76-78-71-225), who jumped 20 spots into a tie for 30th. This was Dyer’s first time shooting an under-par round this season and her sixth round leading UO in her career.
Also completing the Duck scorecard was senior Ashley Edwards (78-82-78-238) who remained in a tie for 66th place after the third round. Freshman Monica Petchakan (86-80-79-245) also competed, shooting seven-over 79, her best round of the tournament.
In the team standings, No.13 Duke (295-294-288-877) shot an even-par on Tuesday’s round, jumping up one spot into first place. Three shots behind Duke, 17th-ranked Colorado (297-293-290-880) finished in second place. First and second round leader USC (293-292-296-881) fell two spots into third place overall after shooting eight-over on the day.
Overall on the individual leaderboard, Colorado’s Alex Stewart (71-71-67-211) moved up four spots into first place after shooting five-over today. Isagawa claimed the number two spot and USC’s Lisa McCloskey (71-71-71-213) rounded out the top three. In fourth place, three golfers were tied at four shots behind the leader.
