Eugene, Ore.- The No.22 ranked University of Oregon women’s golf team jumped one spot into a tie for seventh place in the final round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Tuesday March 27th. The Ducks (314-298-308-920) finished the day at 20-over 308, and completed the tournament at 56-over par at the par 72, 6,022-yard course in Kapalua, Maui.
Hawaii native, Cassy Isagawa (80-72-71-223) jumped 17 spots into a tie for eighth place after shooting one-under 71.
“It was awesome to play back home and it was really nice to see my friends and family come out to watch me play,” Isagawa said. “Today I told myself to just have fun and relax. I didn’t make a lot of putts today, but I played really consistent and I was able to finish strong at the end.”
The freshman shot her 10th under par round and recorded the team’s lowest round 16 times. Her eighth place finish in this event has earned her top 10 finishes in all of the 2012 spring events this season.
Rounding out the Ducks scorecard was senior Ashley Edwards (75-77-75-227) who shot three-over 75 on the day and finished in a tie for 18th. Junior Cheyenne Hickle (78-74-81-233) placed 32nd overall and freshman Cali Hipp (81-79-81-241) tied for 52nd place. Also making the trip was sophomore Raphaela Dyer (82-75-82-239), tying for 47th overall.
The team leaderboard remained the same with 14th-ranked Colorado Buffaloes (299-289-301-889) lead the pack in first place at 25-over 889. The 15th ranked Cal Bears (295-296-300-891) finished two shots behind the leader, shooting 27-over par, after shooting 12-over 300 on the day. One shot behind the Bears, No. 13 Tennessee (299-293-300-892) clinched third place, shooting 28-over 892 overall.
On the individual leaderboard, Cal’s Daniela Holmqvist (68-70-76-214) remained in first place throughout the event, shooting two-under 214 after three rounds. Additionally, Pepperdine’s Alina Ching (69-72-141) clinched runner-up honors by shooting two-over 218, staying in second place throughout three rounds. Jennifer Coleman (74-71-75-220) of Colorado finished in third place, six shots behind the leader.

Up next, the women’s golf team travels to Half Moon Bay, Calif. to host and compete in the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The event will take place at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Ocean Course on Monday April 16th and Tuesday April 17th.
