Ducks Move Up One Spot at Ping/ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz.- The University of Oregon women’s golf team moved up one spot into 15th place at the Ping/ASU Invitational. The three-day three-round tournament is played at Arizona State University’s Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.

The Ducks shot 11-over 299, which was a big improvement over yesterday’s score at the 6,223 yard, par-72 course. 

Senior Avery Sills (75-74-149) continued to be the team’s leading scorer, after posting a team-best score for consecutive days after shooting two-over 74 today. Sills stayed in a tie for 48th place after two rounds.

Sophomore Cassy Isagawa (78-74-152) improved in the second round, shooting a two-over 74 and moving up 14 spots in a tie for 59th place. Freshman Caroline Inglis (77-75-152) also improved her score from yesterday by two strokes, shooting three-over 75 and finishing in a tie for 59th place. 

On the individual leaderboard, Duke’s Laetitia Beck (67-70-137) stayed in first place after the second round and sits in a tie with Alabama’s Emma Tally (68-69-137) who are seven-under 137 after two rounds. Three players are in a tie for third place at six-under 138. 

The Ducks also counted a scorecard from sophomore Monica Petchakan (82-76-158) who bettered her first round score by six strokes, shooting four-over 76 and moved into a tie for 76th place.   Sophomore Cali Hipp (81-79-160) also made the trip, shooting seven-over 79 in the second round. 

Duke (280-283-563) moved into first place after shooting five-under 283 on the day. Five shots behind Duke, Alabama (284-284-568) sits in second place after carding four-under 284 today. Southern California (283-288-571) and Stanford (289-282-571) are in a tie for third place at five-under 571 after the second round.
