Women's Golf Heads to Pac-12 Championships

EUGENE, Ore.—The No. 41 University of Oregon women’s golf team is headed to Valencia, Calif. to start off the 2013 postseason in the Pac-12 Championships. Play begins Monday, April 22nd at 8:30 a.m. and continues through Wednesday, April 24th at the Par 72, 6,300 yard Valencia Country Club course.

“Our team keeps improving every week,” said head coach Ria Scott. “We are looking to build on some good rounds we’ve had in the last couple tournaments. We will also use our experience from the difficult golf courses and demanding schedule we have faced this spring. The Pac-12 is again the best conference in the country and we are thankful to compete in such an elite field.”

Competing for coach Scott will be seniors Avery Sills and Hanule Sky Seo, sophomores Cali Hipp and No. 41 Cassy Isagawa, and freshman Caroline Inglis.

The three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by the UCLA Bruins. The 11-team field includes six teams in’s Top 25 in No. 1 USC, No. 5 Arizona, No. 10 UCLA, No. 11 Washington, No. 12 Arizona State and No. 15 Stanford. Nine of the Top 25 individual players will also be competing in the event including No. 3 Annie Park of USC, No. 4 Tiffany Lua of UCLA and No. 5 Mariah Stackhouse of Stanford. Oregon’s Isagawa is ranked No. 41.

The Ducks are looking to improve from last week’s 14th place finish at the Ping/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. In Tempe, Isagawa (78-74-68-220) had a tremendous final round, shooting a team-best four-under 68 and moved into a tie for 40th place.
