STANFORD, Calif. -- The No. 33 University of Oregon women’s golf team carded a final round 287 (+3) Sunday and placed sixth at the 16-team Stanford Intercollegiate, hosted at the Stanford University Golf Course. The Ducks finished with an 863 (+11), posting a better team score than five teams ranked ahead of them.

Head coach Ria Scott’s squad carded rounds of 283 (-1) and 293 (+9) before Sunday’s 3-over final round at the prestigious event. Oregon’s tournament was bolstered by consistent scores throughout the lineup, highlighted by freshman Cathleen Santoso’s 54-hole score of 214 (+1).  

Each of the five teams ahead of Oregon on the leaderboard are ranked in the top 20. The tournament featured 13-of-16 teams ranked in the top 50 by GolfStat as the Ducks defeated seven top 50 opponents, including No. 11 Vanderbilt. Second-ranked USC won the tournament at 21-under par (831), followed by No. 1 UCLA (836) and No. 19 Washington (851).

Santoso’s collegiate career has started magnificently as the freshman has placed in the top 20 individually at all four events this season. She tied for 16th, Oregon’s top finish, after carding a final round 72 (+1) to improve two spots. Santoso shot a 2-over par 37 on the front side before making a birdie on the par-five 12th hole to close her round at 1-over. She made 15 pars today after opening the tournament with rounds of 69 (-2) and 73 (+2). Santoso led the field with 42 pars overall.

Juniors Cali Hipp and Cassy Isagawa tied for 29th to pace the Ducks at 4-over par (217) through three rounds.

Hipp carded a 2-over par 73 Sunday with four birdies on the scorecard. She made birdie on holes No. 1, 10, 12 and 16 and finished with nine pars. Hipp opened the event with rounds of 69 (-2) and 75 (+4), competing in the top 5 lineup for the first time since the UNM Dick McGuire Invitational.

Isagawa, ranked 55th in the nation by GolfStat, carded a 2-over par (73) final round to place 29th with Hipp. She opened the tournament with a 71 (E) and 73 (+2). In today’s final round, she played the back side at 1-under par with two birdies to finish at 2-over on the day. She made 38 pars on the tournament.

Sophomore Caroline Inglis tied for 32nd individually with a three-round score of 218 (+5). She tied for Oregon’s top score in the final round with an even par 71. Inglis made three birdies and six pars for a 32 (-3) on the front nine before giving up three strokes on the back side. She carded a 74 (+3) and 72 (+1) on Friday and Saturday, improving a stroke on every round.

Freshman Marcella Pranovia also carded a steady even par (71) closing round, improving 15 spots individually to place 65th. She finished with a 54-hole score of 227 (+14) after opening with rounds of 82 (+11) and 74 (+3). She posted a team-high 16 pars in today’s final round with a birdie on the 12th hole. All five Ducks birdied the par five 12th hole today.

The Ducks have a 295.9 round average as a team this season and have placed in the top 6 at every event.

Oregon returns to the links on Nov. 4-5 with the final event of the fall, the Pac-12 Preview. The annual event will be held in Kohala, Hawai’i, at the Nanea Golf Club.
