SAN JOSE, Calif. – For the second straight tournament, the No. 20 Oregon women’s golf team is leading the field entering the final round. The Ducks tallied a 36-hole score of 588 (+12) Monday at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational to lead the 13-team field.

Playing on the Almaden Golf and Country Club, Oregon carded rounds of 296 (+8) and 292 (+4) to lead UC Davis and San Francisco by two strokes. UO’s afternoon round was the second-lowest round of the day. The Ducks were fueled by four players in the top 15 of the individual leaderboard.

“The long, wet conditions are different than what we’ve experienced in the past,” said head coach Ria Scott. “We learned a lot today about how the course is playing and will make the adjustments tomorrow.”

After a career-best runner-up finish last week, freshman Cathleen Santoso is leading the charge again. Santoso is in sixth place after rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E). The Sydney, Australia native made seven birdies and 21 pars on the day. Santoso birdied the par-four 11th hole in each round.

Sophomore Caroline Inglis and junior Cassy Isagawa are two strokes back, tied for eighth place with a two-round tally of 147 (+3).  Inglis shaved five strokes off her morning round, carding a one-under, 71, in the afternoon. After playing the first seven holes at three-over, Inglis had a steak of four birdies in six holes to break par and jump from 23rd to eighth on the leaderboard.

Isagawa carded a pair of steady rounds, firing a 73 (+1) before closing with a 74 (+2). The two-time All-Pac-12 selection played the front nine at two-under with just one bogey in both rounds.

Freshman Marcella Pranovia is tied for 15th with a 36-hole mark of 149 (+5). If the Bali, Indonesia, native holds her spot in the top 15, she’ll set a new career-best finish. Pranovia carded rounds of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3). She went under par on holes No. 5, 11 and 18 in both rounds. In the opening round, Pranovia was the only player in the field to eagle the par-five, 475-yard 18th hole.

Senior Raphaela Dyer cut four strokes off her opening round and is tied for 49th place with a two-round mark of 156 (+12). The Swanmore, England, native carded a steady closing round of 76 (+4) with 14 pars on her scorecard.

Tuesday’s final round will go off at 8:30 a.m. (PST). The Ducks will be paired with No. 35 UC Davis and San Francisco.

"Tomorrow will be exciting because our Ducks have yet to play their best golf at Almaden,” said Scott. “If the team continues to have fight and focus on what they can control, we will be in good shape tomorrow.”
