EUGENE – More young talent continues to fill out the University of Oregon men’s tennis roster.

Head coach Nils Schyllander announced the signing of Daniel Sardu (Sopron, Hungary/Berzsenyi Daneyal Lutheran School) to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday.

“We are excited to have Daniel join our program,” Schyllander said. “He is a quality young man who is used to playing at a high level. He’s going to add a lot of firepower to our lineup immediately.”

Highlights: Currently ranked No. 3 nationally in the under-18 men’s circuit (No. 13 overall men’s ranking) … member of the Hungarian national tennis team … two-time national doubles champion … finished national runner-up in singles play once.

Personal: Born on Dec. 22, 1991 in Budapest, Hungary … parents are Krisztian Sardu and Brigitta Bihara.
