An Update from Senior Duncan "Diesel" MacDonald-Korth
Wednesday, April 18, 2011
Hello, Duncan MacDonald-Korth reporting here for your latest tennis team blog installment.
Well, we have been going through a rough stretch of late, dropping matches to Cal and Stanford last weekend. There were a few highlights, however. Jose (Pepe') Izquierdo and Baptiste Faynot had an inspiring doubles victory, while sophomore Aaron Clissold notched a win over Stanford (a feather in any college tennis player’s cap).
Looking forward to this coming weekend we have a big match against Washington. It will be our last home dual of the season and will also serve as my Senior Day. We hope to finish our dual season in style and garner some momentum heading into Pac-10 championships. It is fitting to finish our season against our arch rival, the Washington Huskies. So come on out and support your Ducks and help power us to a big home victory!
On a personal note, I would like to thank all of the Duck fans that have attended our matches over the last four seasons. I have had a long and enjoyable career here and feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to play for the Ducks. It is amazing to me how much the athletic department and the university as a whole has grown in my time here! Thanks for all the support on the court and for your donations!
Also, our resident heartthrob, Sam Bush, has been dating and we are all trying to find out with whom he has been going out! If anyone has any info please let us know!
Wishing everyone a very happy Easter and we hope to see you at the courts on Saturday!
