EUGENE – A trip to Ojai, Calif., is on the docket for the Oregon men’s tennis team this weekend.

Following an 11-11 dual season, six players will vie for individual titles in the Pac-10 Championships, which run from Thursday through Sunday.

Headlining the field for the Ducks are a pair of freshmen in Robin Cambier and Alex Rovello , who posted 20 and 17 singles wins, respectively, to lead UO this season. The duo will be joined by junior Jose Izquierdo , who won a career-best 14 singles matches this season, and Aaron Clissold, who is coming off a 16-12 season on the singles court.

Clissold will be the first Oregon player in action in the championship draw on Thursday, opening against Stanford's Ryan Thacher (No. 46 nationally) at 8 a.m. A win would move him to the round of 16 against either UCLA's Adrien Puget or Washington's Marton Bots at 2 p.m. Izquierdo starts against against USC’s 43rd-ranked Daniel Nguyen at 9:30 a.m. If he advances, he’ll take on either Stanford’s Denis Lin or UCLA’s Maxime Tabatroung at 2 p.m. Rovello opens against California’s Christoffer Konigsfeldt at 11 a.m. and will face either No. 1 Steve Johnson of USC or UCLA’s Alex Brigham at 3:30 if he advances. Cambier takes on Washington’s Martin Kildahl at 12:30 p.m. with a win pitting him against either Stanford’s Bradley Klahn (No. 9 nationally) or Arizona’s Mario Urquidi at 3:30 p.m.

Two more Ducks will fill out the invitational singles bracket in juniors Sho Higuchi and Douglas Mayeda . Higuchi went 9-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 in dual play and Mayeda finished 9-5 on the singles court. The duo have one singles match on tap for Thursday with Mayeda facing Stanford’s Jamin Ball at 12:30 p.m. and Higuchi squaring off against Washington’s Matt Stith at 2 p.m.

On the doubles court, Oregon will be represented by the pairings of Cambier and Rovello along with Izquierdo and Mayeda in the championship bracket. Cambier and Rovello open their run against California’s Nick Andrews and Jonathan Dahan while Izquierdo and Mayeda take on USC’s Steve Johnson and Ray Sarmiento (No. 34 nationally). Both matches begin at 10 a.m. They will each play at 3 p.m. if they advance to the quarterfinals, with Rovello and Cambier facing either Stanford’s Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher (No. 2 nationally) or Arizona’s Frank Chen and Mario Urquidi. Izquierdo and Mayeda would face either California’s Christoffer Konigsfeldt and Tommie Murphy or Stanford’s Denis Lin and Matt Kandath.
