MORAGA, Calif. - The No. 62 ranked University of Oregon men's tennis team got back to their winning ways, defeating Saint Mary's, 5-2, Thursday (Apr. 5) afternoon at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Oregon (15-3, 0-2 Pac-12) ends a two-match losing streak with their win over the Gaels.

"It was nice to get to 15 wins for the season," said head coach Nils Schyllander.  "The conditions were pretty tough with the wind, but it was great to get an outdoor match in before playing Stanford and Cal."

The Ducks swept the doubles portion of the dual behind their dominant first team.  Oregon's No. 1 doubles team, comprised of junior Jeff Mullen and sophomore Robin Cambier, defeated Joakim Norstrom and Steven Dawson, 8-6.  The win set the tone for the rest of the day as sophomore Alex Rovello and senior Jose Izquierdo teamed to take down Saint Mary's Mixime Olivan and Saad Benkirane, 8-5, to clinch the doubles point.

After being shut out in back-to-back duals against UCLA and USC, Oregon was able to rebound and win four out of six singles matches.  Cambier started a new winning streak of one after defeating Olivan, 6-4, 6-2.  His previous streak had reached 15 before falling to UCLA's No. 30 ranked Nick Meister, 6-3, 6-1.  Junior Aaron Clissold clinched the dual for the Ducks at No. 6 singles.  The New South Wales, Australia-native beat out the Gael's Samuel Bloore, 6-4, 6-4 to seal it for Oregon.

The victory for the Ducks moves them to 15-3 including 2-0 on outdoors courts this season.  The coming matches pose an opportunity to even their record in conference play as they take on Stanford on Friday (Apr. 6) at 1:30 p.m. and Cal on Saturday (Apr. 7) at 1 p.m.
