A Farewell from Senior Duncan "Diesel" MacDonald-Korth

Duncan MacDonald-Korth reporting here on what will be my last blog as an Oregon student-athlete.
First off, I would like to thank everyone that came out to my senior day- our match against the Huskies. It was a very meaningful moment to me personally, and we had the largest crowd in recent memory. It was great to finish my career at home in front of all of you fantastic Duck fans!
As many of you know, Alex Rovello and Robin Cambier made a big splash down at the Pac-10 Championships in Ojai, California. Both had huge first round wins- Rovell over Cal’s Konigsfeldt and Cambier over Washington’s Kildahl. To back it up Cambier went to a third set with the defending NCAA Individual Champion, Stanford’s Bradley Klahn before coming up just short. However, these should be considered fantastic accomplishments and a sign of great things to come for these talented young players and the Ducks’ program as a whole!
The guys have now begun offseason training and have been ramping up the fitness. Our definitive goal is to become the best conditioned team in the Pac-12—no one will be fitter than the Ducks! Both the coaches and the UO strength and conditioning staff have been instrumental in getting us into the best shape of our lives.
On a personal note, I’d like to thank all the Oregon fans for faithfully attending and supporting Duck tennis throughout my career. With such exceptional players on the team, I hope you are as hopeful and positive as I am about the future success of the program!
