EUGENE- University of Oregon men's tennis head coach Nils Schyllander and associate head coach Jonas Piibor have announced the schedule for the 2012-2013 fall and spring season. After a strong 2011-2012 season in which the Ducks finished 17-7, Oregon is excited about the upcoming season.

The fall schedule consists of four tournaments beginning with the ITA All-American Tournament in Tulsa, Okla. on Sept. 29-Oct. 11. The Ducks then travel to Boise, Idaho Oct. 5-7 for the Boise State Fall Classic, followed by the ITA Regionals in Moraga, Calif. October 19-23. The final fall tournament will be the PNW Intercollegiates Nov. 2-4 in Seattle, Wash.

"I think the fall sets up very nicely," said Coach Schyllander. "We have four quality events in the fall where we'll be able to see all our players in a lot of matches to lead us into the spring."

The Ducks begin the spring slate by hosting both Portland State and Seattle University on Jan. 19th. On Jan. 25th, Eastern Washington and South Carolina Upstate travel to Eugene to take on the Ducks.

Oregon hits the road for the first time in the spring as they face off against Pac-12 opponent Washington and UNLV in Seattle, Washington on Feb. 22nd and 23rd.

California and Stanford will then visit Eugene for matches against UO on April 5th  and 6th, respectively. The Ducks then face their final non-conference opponent of the regular season when they travel to Santa Barbara, Calif. to play UCSB on Apr. 11th. UO will stay in California as they travel farther south to Los Angeles to continue their conference play against USC on Apr. 12th and UCLA on Apr. 13th.

The Ducks close out the regular season with a home matchup against conference rival Washington on April 20th at, before heading to Ojai, Calif. for the Pac-12 Championships Apr. 25-28.

"The dual schedule has a lot of ranked out-of-conference teams this year and I feel we're ready for that. It's also going to help us prepare for a very, very tough Pac-12 schedule," added Schyllander.

Schyllander leads five returning starters among the seven returning lettermen, featuring the record-breaking doubles team of Robin Cambier and Jeff Mullen. The duo amassed a 28-4 record, surpassing the previous record of 19 wins held by Mike Goldstein and John DeVorss since 1994. Junior Alex Rovello and recently-graduated Jose Izquierdo tied Goldstein and DeVorss' record to place second on the school's all-time list.

In singles, Rovello returns after an impressive 21-12 campaign which tied him for eighth on Oregon's all-time best singles season list. Cambier also had a great season in singles, finishing with a 24-8 record, tying him for second on Oregon's all-time list. Sophomore Daniel Sardu also ended up on the list at fifth after posting a 22-11 season as a true freshman. Needless to say, the Ducks have a lot to look forward to this season with a very strong group of returning players.

Newcomers this season include Oregon native Brent Chin and Dutch standout Daan Maasland. Maasland holds a remarkable resume after beating the numbers one ranked junior player in the world and looks to add a lot of firepower to the Ducks' roster.
