SEATTLE - The UO men's tennis team won 9-of-10 matches Saturday at the Nordstrom Open, dominating the field in the second day of competition. Head coach Nils Schyllander's Ducks advanced three singles players into the round of 16 while both doubles teams reached the quarterfinals.

Competing in the final fall event of the season, the Ducks have cruised to a 12-1 overall record at the open event. All of today's seven singles victories came in straight sets. Junior Daniel Sardu, sophomore Daan Maasland and freshman Jayson Amos each advanced to the round of 16 in Seattle.

Sardu was dominant in both of his matches today after receiving a bye in round one. The Sopron, Hungary, native defeated Branden Muraki 6-0, 6-1 in the second round. In the round of 32, Sardu defeated Washington's Rishavdeb Raman 6-2, 6-3. He improves his singles record to 5-2 on the season.

Amos was equally impressive, dropping only three games in a pair of straight set victories. He knocked off Andrew Nakajima 6-1, 6-0, in the second round before beating Washington sophomore Dragos Puscalau 6-2, 6-0. Amos improves his fall singles record to 7-2.
