EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon men’s tennis team added Alberto Reyes to the 2014 roster, head coach Nils Schyllander announced Wednesday.

Reyes is a native of Ciudad Obregón, Mexico, and was a top-five ranked U-14 player in Mexico in 2009. He graduated from Weil College Preparatory, an elite tennis academy, in Ojai, Calif. Reyes also trained at the Bruguera Tennis Academy in Spain. After two years at Bruguera, Reyes earned a top-100 ranking in the Absolute Spaniard Ranking.

Reyes is one of five newcomers as the Ducks expand their roster to 10 student-athletes.

Oregon opens the dual season on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Student Tennis Center. The Ducks host Portland State at 10 a.m., followed by Eastern Washington at 5 p.m. Oregon is looking to improve on a 16-8 season last year.
